I had an email from the new chief TD of the WBF today which said :

The WBF don't have VP scales for 6-board matches (nor for 48-board
matches come to that), because they don't run any League/Swss-type
events with matches of such lengths.
 
However, if you look at the scales which do exist at present, I think
you will find that the IMPs vary in proportion to the SQARE ROOT OF THE
NUMBER OF BOARDS.
 
So, the 32 board scale is roughly speaking 1.4 times the 16-board scale
(32/16 = 2; root 2  = approx. 1.4).
 
So, your correspondent will have to devise his own 6-board scale if he
wants one, but he can do this fairly easily by halving the figures shown
for 24-board matches.
 
So, for example, a 25-5 win will need 26 IMPs (it needs 52 IMPs on the
24-board scale). We still us 20-0 scales here in England, and we need 25
IMPs for a 20-0 win in a 5-6 board match, so this seems to be about
right.
 
Of course, he'll have some decisions to make when the 24-board figures
start/end in an odd number.

I would like to follow the Irish method as we do play some events where
we have less than 8-boards in play...  :)

Sid, where did you get this from ??? As far as I am aware the WBF has
done no such thing ?
